The Centre for Distance Education has started functioning on the campus in 1994 as sister organization to offer post-graduate diploma programmes of one year duration through distance mode. Majority of the participants are drawn from academicians, industrialists, bureaucrats, other central government and state government employees and unemployed youth from different parts of India.

Presently, the CDE is offering the following Post-Graduate diploma programmes - Project Management, Environmental Education, Human Rights, Translation Studies in Hindi, Television Production, Library Automation & Networking, Telecommunication, Chemical Analysis & Quality Management, Business Ethics, Cyber Laws & Intellectual Property Rights, Communicative English, Mass Communication & Translation, Techniques in Urdu Business Management, Medicinal Botany, Energy Management, Computer Application in Indian Languages, Embedded Systems, Environmental Economics, Mass Communication & Translation Techniques in Telugu, Consumer Education, Short-term Programme in Make-up and Awareness Programme on Stress Management
