IIMK
pioneered Interactive Distance Learning (IDL) for working executives
in India . Starting with 300 class contact hrs. in 2001-02,
the year-long Executive Management Education Programme is today
the richest one available in the country having 450 class contact
hours. With the launch of 4 new 6-month long modular educational
programmes in Strategic Management, Finance, Marketing and Operations
Management areas, the IDL platform offers 1350 contact hours
of long duration programmes today.
The
admission to the programmes is through a nationwide rigorous
selection process. The programme has in-built flexibility that
allows the participants acquire necessary knowledge and skills,
without adversely affecting their official duties. The classes
are regularly held through two-way video and two- way audio
communication. The programmes have two components; one in which
the participant has to take lessons by logging in one of the
300 nationwide network of classrooms. The other component is
conducted at IIMK campus at Kozhikode.
