Eligibility for Admission to Annamalai University Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) - Applicants for admission to the BCA Programme must have passed the higher secondary examination or an examination accepted by the Syndicate as equivalent thereto. Those who have passed the three years technical diploma examination are also eligible for admission to the BCA Programme. Duration: Three years

FIRST YEAR (BCA) Subjects - Scientific Computing, Concepts of Information Technology, Programming in C & C++, Online systems and Web Designing, Programming Lab - I (C, C++ & MS-Office Lab) and Web Design Lab - II

SECOND YEAR (BCA) Subjects - Operating Systems, Business and Accounting Data Structures and Alogorithm Relational Database Management Systems, Visual Basic, Computer Networks, Programming Lab (Visual Basic) - III and RDBMS Lab - IV (Oracle Forms and Reports)

THIRD YEAR (BCA) Subjects - Client / Server Technology, Internet and Java Programming, E-Commerce, Software Engineering, Multimedia Project and Viva Voce Programming Lab (JAVA) - V and Programming Lab (Multimedia) - VI

Project work : The Students are expected to do a project work, in an assigned topic under the supervision of an approved guide individually during the final year.

Eligibility for Admission to Annamalai University B.Sc. (Computer Science) - Applicants for admission to the B.Sc. SECOND YEAR B.Sc. (Computer Science) - Computer Architecture and Microprocessors, Operating Systems, Object Oriented Programming Using C++, Relational Database Management Systems, Web Development Tools, Visual Programming Programming Lab III (Oracle 8i and Visual Basic) and Programming Lab IV (C++)

THIRD YEAR B.Sc. (Computer Science) - Internet and Java Programming, Computer Graphics, Computer Networks, System Software, Software Engineering, Project and Viva Voce Programming Lab V (Internet and Java Programming) and Programming Lab VI (Graphics)

Project work : The Students are expected to do a project work, in an assigned topic under the supervision of an approved guide individually during the final year.

Eligibility for Admission to Annamalai University MCA (Master of Computer Applications) - i) Candidates seeking admission to the first year of the three year Master of Computer Applications (MCA) programme should have a three year Bachelor's Degree after Plus 2 or three year Diploma of any recognised University. ii) Candidates seeking admission to I year of MCA Programme and who have not studied Mathematics at +2 or at Diploma level should undergo a bridge programme for a week.

The minimum duration of the programme for the Degree of Master of Computer Applications is 6 semesters (3 years). The candidate shall complete the programme within 8 years from the year of admission to the programme.

Annamalai University MCA Personal Contact Programmes - will be conducted for a total duration of 20 days in each semester arranged in different sessions except in VI semester. All the Personal Contact Programmes are Compulsory.

The candidate will be eligible to appear for the examination only if he/she has attended atleast 90% in the theory subjects and practical classes during the Personal Contact Programmes. Attendance certificate will be issued to the students at the end of each programme.

Annamalai University MCA Scheme of Examination - Each course shall be of three hours' duration. The students have to do any computer oriented project work under a qualified guide in any computer related industry. The approval of the Director, DDE for the project work and project guide has to be obtained before starting the project. The project report should be submitted on or before the last date prescribed by the Director, DDE. The project work viva-voce will be conducted after submission of Project work.

Eligibility for Admission to Annamalai University M.Sc. (Information Technology) - A pass in any degree or an equivalent examination. This programme is designed in such a way so as to impart training in the recent advancements and modern trends in the field of IT . Duration: Four Semesters The candidate shall complete the programme within a period of seven years from the year of admission.

FIRST SEMESTER M.Sc. (Information Technology) - Data Structure and Algorithms, Computer Architecture and Microprocessors, Object Oriented Programming, Visual Programming Programming Lab - I (Object Oriented Programming - C++) and Programming Lab - II (Visual Programming)

SECOND SEMESTER M.Sc. (Information Technology) - Multimedia and It's Applications, Java Programming, Distributed Operating System, Computer Networks, Programming Lab - III (Multimedia) and Programming Lab - IV (Java)

THIRD SEMESTER M.Sc. (Information Technology) - Advanced RDBMS, C # Programming and NET Frame work, Web Designing, Client / Server Technology Programming Lab - V (C # Programming and NET Framework) and Programming Lab VI (Web Designing)

FOURTH SEMESTER M.Sc. (Information Technology) - Data Warehousing and Mining, Unified Modeling Language, Advanced Tools in Computing and Elective 1. Enterprise Java Beans and JSP (or) 2. Wireless Application Protocol Project and Viva voce

Eligibility for Admission to Annamalai University M.Sc. (Software Engineering) - 1. A pass in any degree with Maths at Higher Secondary level or equivalent. 2.Candidates who have not studied Maths at +2 level should undergo a bridge programme for a week. Duration: Four Semesters The candidate shall complete the programme within a period of seven years from the year of admission.

FIRST SEMESTER M.Sc. (Software Engineering) - Software Development, Unix, C, C++ Data Structures & Algorithms, Software Project Management, Programming Lab - I (Unix, C, C++) and Programming Lab - II (Data Structures)

SECOND SEMESTER M.Sc. (Software Engineering) - Object Oriented Analysis & Design, System Software and Operating Systems, Advanced RDBMS, Java Programming, Programming Lab - III (Advanced RDMBS) and Programming Lab - IV (Java)

THIRD SEMESTER M.Sc. (Software Engineering) - Software Quality Control & Assurance, Multimedia and It's Applications, C # Programming & NET Framework, Software Testing, Programming Lab - V (Multimedia) and Programming Lab - VI (C # & Net Frame work)

FOURTH SEMESTER M.Sc. (Software Engineering) - Unified Modeling Language, Network Security, Windows Programming, Electives (Software Metrics (or) Data Warehousing and Mining Programming) and Lab - VII (Windows Programming)

Project and Viva Voce - The Students are expected to do a project work, in an assigned topic under the supervision of an approved guide individually during the final semester.
