The University is located in Annamalai Nagar. It offers UG, PG, Doctorate, Certificate, PG Diploma and Diploma courses. University got provisional recognition from DEC in 2006 - 07 for conducting distance education courses. Now DEC has given Regular Recognition from 15/02/2007 to 2012.

The Directorate of Distance Education established in 1979 is credited with the largest enrolment in India and has network of study centres, computer training centres, etc., to serve its students.

Methodology - Under Academic activities students are provided study material, home assignments and arranging of personal contact programmes in study centres.

 

Study Centres - The working hours for all the Study Centres is (1) On Week days: 9.30 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. and 1.30 p.m. to 5.00 p.m. and (2) Sunday: 10.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. Personal Contact Programmes are held in these study centres. Read list of Annamalai University Study Centres

 

Selection - Admission to traditional courses are made through Merit of qualifying exam except admission in professional courses where students have to appear for entrance exam.

 

Application Procedure - Application form can be obtained from University or Study Centre or Website or by post, specifying the programme desired to be pursued. Course fee is paid in form of demand draft in favour of Director, D.D.E., Annamalai University payable at Annamalainagar, Tamilnadu. Completed form after enclosing documents, self addressed envelope and draft can be submitted to University or Study Centre.

 

Note - No candidate is permitted to study Two Degree programmes at a time. If any candidate is found doing so, the Directorate will cancel the admission to one of the programmes and the fees remitted for the cancelled programme will be forfeited.
