Bangalore University has completed Forty Seven years of fruitful existence and has come to be hailed as one of the largest universities of Asia. In 1973, the University moved into a new campus named 'Jnana Bharathi' (JB) located on a sprawling 1100 acres of land and shifted many of its PG departments to this campus.

Courses - BUB offers courses in Science (M.Sc in Mathematics), Arts (B.A & M.A), Commerce (B.Com & M.Com) and Vocational (Diploma, Certificate & PG Diploma) through distance learning.

Methodology - Under Academic activities students are provided study material, home assignments and arranging of personal contact programmes. The Study Materials provided by the Directorate do not provide in depth knowledge, of the subject, hence students are advised to refer to text books also.

Study Centres - BUB has study centres in Karnataka state, regions situated in Bangalore city, Ramanagar and Kolar. Personal Contact Programmes will be conducted for BBM, B.A. & B.Com (Open University scheme) and Postgraduate degree / PG Diploma/ Diploma/ Certificate Courses under correspondence scheme.

Selection - Admission to courses are made through Merit of qualifying exam. The courses offered by this Directorate are open to all the citizens of India but Directorate reserves all rights of admission. Registration will be made only for such courses as notified by Directorate.

Application Procedure - Application form can be obtained from University or Study Centre or Website. Course fee is paid in form of demand draft in favour of Finance Officer, BUB. Application forms should be duly filled and shall be submitted along with the Photo copies of Certificates and with fee receipts.

Note - The Directorate will not accept cash for any purpose Fees has to be paid through receipts for Crossed A/c payee Demand Draft, obtained from any of the Nationalized banks drawn in favor of the Finance Officer, Bangalore University, Bangalore and payable at State Bank of Mysore, Bangalore. Students are advised to write their name, address, course and Telephone No. on the reverse side of the Demand Draft, to prove as its purchaser. They shall be deposited with Finance officer, BUB and official receipt obtained.
