The University is located in Ladnun. It offers UG, PG and Certificate courses in Jainology, Religion and Science of Living. University got provisional recognition from DEC in 2007 - 08 for conducting distance education courses.

Jain Vishva Bharati Institute was established in 1991 with inspiration from His Holiness Acharya Tulsi, a seer, saint and scholar. The Jain Vishva Bharati Institute was accorded with the status of a "Deemed to be University" by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under Section 3 of the U.G.C. Act of 1956.

Courses - University offers courses in BBP, Arts (B.A & M.A), Commerce (B.Com) , Certificate [(1) Astrology, (2) Human Rights, (3) Jain Aesthetics & Art, (4) Jain Religion & Philosophy, (5) Prakrit, (6) Training in Non-Violence and (7) Understanding Religion), Professional (B.LI.Sc) through distance learning. Currently no Technology courses are available under distance learning.

 

Methodology - Under Academic activities students are provided study material and practical-cum-contact classes. The examination of practical papers are conducted at the end of contact classes. The marks so awarded are added to those obtained in the annual examination. Students who do not attend these classes, are not allowed to appear in annual examination.

 

Study Centres - It has study centres in Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Chandigarh, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttaranchal and West Bengal. Contact classes for B.A / B.Com and M.A are conducted for 10 days mainly at Ladnun centre. These may be organised at other centres also on the availability of resources and depending upon sufficient number of students. Every student will have to compulsorily participate in practical-cum-contact classes for one month to be organized at Ladnun in between the months of March to June.

 

Examination Centres - Examination Centers for all UG, PG and others courses are in Hyderabad, Forvisganj, Patna, Chandigarh, Rajnandgaon, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Khedbrahma, Palanpur, Surat, Bhiwani, Faridabad, Kalanwali, Shimla, Banglore, Mysore, Raichur, Indore, Kalyanpura, Ratlam, Ujjain, Mumbai, Ajmer, Amet, Balotra, Banswara, Bhilwara, Bhinmal, Dausa, Didwana, Dhoulpur, Jaipur, Jalor, Jodhpur, Kota, Ladnun, Laxmangarh, Mukundgarh, Pilibanga, Rajsamand, Sanchore, Sardarshahar, Sikar, Alwar, Udaipur, Gaziabad, Chennai, Almora, Rishikesh, Srinagar, Jhargram and Kolkata.

Selection - Admission to courses are made through Merit of  qualifying class.

 

Application Procedure - Application form can be obtained from University or Study Centre or Website. Duly filled in application form along with two photographs, copies of marksheets, certificates along with demand draft should reach JVBI, Ladnun. After the enrolment of the candidate, the syllabus and most of the study materials of each subject will be sent in first installment and rest will be sent in second installment.

 

Note - Fee will be paid in one installment through Demand Draft should be payable in OBC, SBI, SBBJ, PNB and UCO Bank. Sadhus and Sadhvis are exempted from paying the fee. Last date of submission of Application Forms for BPP is 31 May, 2013 and Certificate Courses is 31 January, 2013.
