DDE, MDU is located in Rohtak. It offers conventional, management and technical courses. Maharishi Dayanand University got provisional recognition from DEC in 2007 - 08 for conducting distance education courses.

Directorate of Distance Education (DDE) of Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak is imparting education to more than 1,27,000 students through its study centers. Candidates are free to do any DDE programme with regular courses.

Courses - DDE, MDU offers courses in Science (M.Sc), Arts (B.A & M.A), Commerce (B.Com & M.Com) , PG Diploma (Labour Laws, Labour Welfare & Personnel Management) and Professional (BBA, B.Li.Sc, BCA, B.Ed, M.Ed, LLM, MCA, MBA, M.Lib, APGDCA and APGDIT) through distance learning. 40 courses that are offered by DDE, 21 are for Postgraduate degree, 14 courses for Bachelors degree and 5 PG Diploma Courses.

Methodology - Under Academic activities students are provided printed study material in simple form, classes at University approved study centers on holidays, personal contact programme (PCP), Assignments, Internal Tests, Projects, Field work and well established labs. DDE, MDU, Rohtak follows effective student support system and fair examination and evaluation system. Telephone counseling is also provided to distance learners by in-house faculty of DDE at the headquarter and by the resource persons at respective study centers. Medium of instruction and examination is Hindi and English. Examination is multiple choice question based.

Study Centres - It has study centres in study centres in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chandigarh, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Orissa, Pondicherry, Punjab, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Tripura, Uttaranchal, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal. The study methodology as mentioned above is followed in these centres.

Selection - Admission to the IT and Management Programmes through distance mode are subject to the final outcome of the Civil Writ Petition (No. 6554 of 2012) pending in the Hon’ble High Court for the States of Punjab & Haryana at Chandigarh. The Study Centre will be required to obtain undertaking from the students that they have been apprised of this fact.

Application Procedure - It has hassle free admission process through country wide network of study centres. Application form can be obtained from Study Centre or Website. Candidates have to submit the admission forms and fees online through the Study Centres duly approved by the M.D. University, Rohtak before the last date. They also have to submit a print copy of the admission forms along with requisite fee and documents to the University. No Migration certificate is required.

Note - Students can complete the incomplete course of any university. There is provision of grace marks for passing. Candidates doing courses through distance mode have to deposit full admission fees w.e.f. the admission cycle January 2012.

Online Courses by MDU, Rohtak - MDU Online offers courses for BBA, BBA (FM), BCA, MCA, MBA and MBa (FM). Candidate can apply online anytime. Admissions cycle is July - September, October - December, January - March and April - June. There is no need for submission of any documents. Fees can be paid online and study material along with model question papers is available online. Candidate can submit assignments and give examination on date and time of his choice through website - www.mduonline.ac.in. These programs are being offered in collaboration with National Stock Exchange (NSE).
