DDE Patna University is located in Patna. It offers Intermediate, UG, PG and PG Diploma courses. The Directorate of Distance Education (DDE), Patna University, was known as Institute of correspondence Course and was established in 1974. At present more than 16,000 students are getting their education through this institute.

Courses - DDE, Patna University offers courses in Science (B.Sc), Arts (Intermediate, B.A & M.A), Commerce (Intermediate & B.Com) , PG Diploma (Financial Management, Journalism, Marketing Management and Operations Management) and Professional (B.LI.Sc, B.Com (Hons) and BCA) through distance learning.

Methodology - Under Academic activities students are provided with the printed self instructional study materials for the courses opted by them. The study material are in Hindi and English. These study materials are generally given to the students after their admissions. Contact classes conducted by senior teachers of the Patna University are organised, so that students of the DDE may consult the teachers for their difficulties in their respective subjects.

Study Centre - It has study centre in Patna. Personal Contact Programmes are held at Patna only and the students are informed about the programme of these classes by post or through advertisement in the newspaper.

Selection - Admission to courses are made through fulfillment of eligibility requirement. Students having necessary qualifications can take admission at the DDE and continue their higher education.

Application Procedure - Application form can be obtained from DDE, Patna University in person or by post. Course fee is paid in form of demand draft in favour of Director, Directorate of Distance Education, Patna University payable at Patna. Completed form after enclosing all required documents can be submitted to DDE, Patna University in person or by post.
