Tamil Nadu Open University was established by an Act (No.27 of 2002) of the Legislative Assembly of the Government of Tamil Nadu.

Selection - Admission to courses are made through Merit of qualifying exam and entrance for professional courses.
Application Procedure - Application form can be obtained from University or Study Centre or Website. Course fee is paid in form of demand draft in favour of Registrar TNOU. Completed form after enclosing documents and draft can be submitted to University or Co ordinating centres.
