Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth Distance Education Brief Information

FDE, Tilak Maharashtra University is located in Pune. FDE, TMU offers UG, PG, Certificate, PG Diploma and Diploma courses. Tilak Maharashtra University got DEC Programme-wise Regular Recognition from 2011-12 for conducting B.A, B.Com, M.Com, M.A and Diploma courses through distance education.

Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth was established in 1921. It got status of the "Deemed to be University" in the year 1987. The faculty of Distance Education established in 1985. It started with few traditional courses and now vocational programmes have been added.

Courses - University offers courses in (1) B.A in (Economics, Political Science, History, Sociology, Geography and Yoga), (2) M.A in (Marathi, Hindi and English), (3) Commerce (B.Com & M.Com), (4) Diploma in (Yoga & Naturopathy, Banking and Finance and Cyber Security), (5) Certificate in (Home Nursing, Cyber Security, Health Attendant, Application Engineering, ASP.Net, C, C++, Office Automation & Basics of Computer, C #, PHP, RDBMS and Web Designning) & (6) PG Diploma ( Cyber Security) through distance learning.

Methodology - Under Academic activities students are provided study material, assignments and personal contact programmes. Study  material  is  prepared  basically  in  print  medium  in SIM mode for most of the programmes. It  is  supplemented  by  audio - cassettes  and  guidance through video CD and audio CD. Evaluation is made in two ways – Internal Evaluation through assignments and External Evaluation through semester system or annual examination system. Regularity is maintained in the conduct of examination and announcement of results. Online Examionation system is FDE recent achievement.

Study Centres - It has study centres in Delhi and Maharashtra. Academic and administrative services are provided at the headquarters and Contact Programme centers. FDE has a Student Support Services Cell, all the necessary information regarding academic and administrative matter is provided there.

Selection - Admission to courses are made through Merit and eligibility of candidate for that course.

Application Procedure - Application form can be obtained from University offices in Delhi, Mumbai, Pune and Aurangabad. It can also be downloaded from Website. Completed form after enclosing required documents and draft can be send to Faculty of Distance Education TMU, Gultekadi Pune - 411037. Candidate should mention - Name of the Student, Name of the Course and Purpose of payment on the back side of the demand draft.
