Utkal University Distance Education Brief Information

DD&CE, Utkal University is located on National Highway No.-5 near Vanivihar Traffic Square, Bhubaneswar. It offers UG, PG, Certificate, PG Diploma and Diploma courses. Utkal University got provisional recognition from DEC in 2007 - 08 for conducting distance education courses.

The Utkal University founded on 27.11.1943 is the Oldest University of Odisha. DDCE Utkal University was established in 1962 as the University Evening College. The Directorate of Distance & Continuing Education is a constituent institution of the Utkal University. Presently DDCE has collaborated with Genpact, ICICI Bank Ltd, Infosys and TCS etc. for placement and collaborative academic programs.

Courses - DDCE offers BA (Pass / Hons), B.Com (Pass / Hons), MA (Odia, English, Sanskrit, History, Political Science, Public Administration, Economics & Education), MSW, M.Com, MBA, Integrated MBA, BBA, and PG Diploma in Management (HRM/MM/FM/POM/DNM/TTM), PGDCA & Courses in NGO Management (Odia medium) under Distance Mode. It also offers MCA(2yrs Lateral and 3 years), PG Diploma in Banking & Insurance Management, Spoken English and Personality Development Courses under Continuing Education Program.

Methodology - Under Academic activities students are provided study material, assignments and personal contact programmes for theory and practicals. From the academic session 2011-12, the examination system of 276 colleges and DDCE under Utkal university will be managed through UUeMS (Utkal University Examination Management System).

Study Centres - It has study centres in Odisha. Personal Contact Programmes are held for 10 to 12 days in the Directorate for most of the courses.

Selection - Admission to courses are made through first cum first serve, eligibility and entrance depending upon the course.

Application Procedure - Application form can be obtained from University or select branches of Syndicate Bank or Website. Applicants must pay the required course fee through Crossed Demand Draft drawn on SBI / Syndicate Bank in favour of Director, DDCE, Utkal University payable at Bhubaneswar. Applicant must write clearly one's Name, Address, Purpose of payment and Enrolment Number (after allotment) on the reverse side of the Draft. All applicants are advised to retain photocopies of the draft, counter foil issued by Bank for Draft. Candidate may deposit the filled in form at DDCE, Utkal University or send it by post to Director, DDCE, Utkal University, Vanivihar, Bhubaneswar-751 007.
